One of the questions I am often asked both from prospective clients and people who know about my work and are simply curious is “Is it easy for the client to participate in this kind of therapy?” or “Can anyone do it?”
The great answer to this question is that Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Solution Focused Coaching and Solution Focused Therapy are incredibly easy to do and confortable to experience even when the issue is unpleasant. Though I will say if people are used to analytical therapy then the solution focused approach can take a little getting used to in part because it is so easy and pleasant!
I always start by explaining in an easy to understand way the way the primitive part of the mind works and how it is not the best tool to handle many aspects of twenty first century life. We then learn how this understanding can be used the help us create that state when things are managed much better.
Talking about how things could be better is always pleasant to experience and relaxing! I will help you to paint as vivid a picture as you can of you responding to life at your very best, calmer and yet more motivated, more creative and with better concentration, and to really expand this vision. I note what you say and the words and expressions which you use so that we stay true to your view of yourself at all times never more so than in the hypnosis phase of the exercise.
We then begin what for most people is a blissful experience which some people describe as being akin to floating in a warm pool and others describe as being like those moments when we know we are drifting off to sleep. I will use words and language in a way which is respectful and therapuetic but as a published poet hopefully my words will be graceful and beautiful for you to experience too as we undertake together the process of creating your chosen subconscious changes. The hypnosis phase lasts for around thirty minutes but nearly all of my Clients feel it is less than this and they wish it could be longer!
So, yes when I answer this question the answer is always therapy is easy to experience!
